COVID-19 Policy Updated 6/30/2021

All of us at TYC Junior Sail want you to know that our primary goal is SAFETY for your child as well as our staff. As the COVID-19 situation evolves we have been consistently monitoring and adjusting our programs for Summer 2021. We were able to run camps and race team programs in conjunction with GHYC Junior Sail in Summer and Fall of 2020. To do this safely, we followed all local, state, and federal safety guidance and are happy to report that we did not have COVID-19 cases within the program. The following procedures are currently in place:

  • Daily Health check and questionnaire

  • Reduce group size to 12

  • Double-Handed boats only with parent permission

  • Reduced overall camp programs to allow for appropriate social distancing

  • Hand sanitizer readily available

Facial Covering Policy: Beginning 7/5/21, fully vaccinated employees, volunteers and participants who wish to attend the program without a facial covering must submit proof of vaccination to Sailing Director Ashley Nelson. Only employees, volunteers and participants who submit vaccination records will be permitted to participate without a face covering while at GHYC and TYC Junior Sail facilities. Unvaccinated individuals, individuals who have not completed their full vaccination cycle, and individuals who do not provide proof of vaccination continue to wear face coverings at all times on land but may remove them on the water as long as they are able to practice social distancing. On land, all employees, volunteers and participants must continue to practice social distancing whether they are vaccinated or not unless specific activities make social distancing unreasonable or unsafe. In those cases, all individuals will be required to wear a mask even if vaccinated.
